Meet Ken B. - Certified Math/Statistics Tutor
I grew up in Southern California where I still live. After graduating from college I was interested in an academic career, but decided instead to work as an executive in my family's business, a challenging and fulfilling position from which I retired in 2010. Online tutoring has given me the chance to return to teaching, my first love. I have been a tutor for over 1 1/2 years. In addition to tutoring, I love reading, movies, and taking long walks in the beautiful historic districts of my hometown.

Always encourage! Give positive feedback when earned. We all make mistakes, so when correcting a misstep do so gently and as a learning experience: "how do we fix this?" Students are different and learn at different speeds - tailor each session accordingly. Strive to make each student feel that he or she is an individual, can talk freely with the tutor, and that we are partners working for success on a homework assignment or exercise. Clearly explain new ideas and concepts - clarify "why" something is done, not just "how to do it". Keep parents "in the loop" with informative progress reports; respond to feedback when given. Be reliable and on-time. Work is important, but can be fun too!My Hobbies
