Meet Julia L. - Certified Early Childhood Education Tutor
My name is Julia Lee and I am a certified teacher. I have been teaching for seventeen years. Throughout
those years, I have experienced teaching in different settings: classroom, homeschool, and tutoring. My
goal as a tutor is to enable my student so that they longer need me.
My Tutoring Areas
Working with elementary-aged students provides me a lot of enjoyment. I particularly take delight when working with reading, reading comprehension, and writing. Math and history do not trail far behind in my list of favorites. Observing my student having his "light bulb" moment of understanding is a great thrill for me. I try to make learning fun while keeping structure to the lesson. Students in the secondary grades also hold a place in my heart. Helping these students become better writers and understanding their reading assignments is what I really enjoy. As times change, I feel it is vitally important to develop these skills, especially if the student is college-bound. Regardless of whether a student goes to college or not, he needs to be able to understand what he reads and needs to know how to express himself. Another area where I like to try to assist secondary students is preparation for tests; such as the ACT or SAT. The areas I feel I am able to help the most, regarding those tests, is vocabulary and writing.My Educational Background
After completing an Associate's Degree in Performing Theater Arts, I pursued my degree in Education. I obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education/Elementary, with a minor in English.My Educational Philosophy
