Understanding
the AASA and AzSCI
Arizona state testing begins in 3rd grade. From 3rd-8th grade, students complete Arizona’s Academic Standards Assessments annually in ELA and Mathematics. Additionally, 5th and 8th grade students take the AzSCI test which focuses on Science. Once in high school, 11th grade students must again take the AzSCI in addition to the ACT.
